Hey, my Sunday crossword is out! If you're a Times crossword subscriber, you can grab it here. Also up is a short interview with me about the puzzle on the Times's Wordplay blog; it's filled with spoilers about the answer and the theme gimmick, so don't read it if you plan to solve the puzzle and haven't yet. However, if either half of that caveat doesn't apply to you, well then, please read freely!
Posted by Francis at 12:23 AMCongrats on your 6/13/10 NYTimes puzzle. I can't remember when I've done a harder or more clever one.
Posted by: Barbara McAulay at June 13, 2010 07:59 AMLOVED the puzzle! One of the most fun and satisfying I've done in a while. Ingenious.
Posted by: Laura Dove at June 13, 2010 09:58 AMWonderful puzzle today! I loved finding each layer of the gimmick. It had the multiple aha moments that every great puzzle has. It more than makes up for that puzzle you posted a couple of weeks ago.:-)
Posted by: Squonk at June 13, 2010 10:09 AMMasterful work, LB. Once I clued in on the gimmick, I had to print out a clean copy since my magazine was pretty much trashed. Tough but fair and with an amazing payoff.
Posted by: nmHz at June 13, 2010 10:27 AMInterview in the NY Times. Not too shabby.
Posted by: Doug Stephens at June 13, 2010 01:33 PMI've done many a crossword in my life and you had me for a bit - absolutely brilliant concept! Really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one.

Indeed, a very nice puzzle; I saw the flag clues and thought, "Well, gee, that's an awfully boring theme, especially for Francis", and sure enough, the theme was much, much more interesting.
And: "Also, if Patrick Berry wrote it, probably it’s an awesome puzzle"--so true, so true.
Posted by: Lance at June 13, 2010 07:43 PMHad kind of an adventure getting a copy (see link), but it was well worth it. Nice job!
Posted by: yomikoma at June 14, 2010 03:25 PMDude, that was awesome.
Dear Bluewhiteredsheaney:
