Jay Is Games is having their second flash game design competition, and as far as I'm concerned, the other games will have to be pretty darn awesome to beat Sprout, a simple but elegant (and droll, I thought) mini-adventure game.
Posted by Francis at 09:56 PMThat was indeed very cute.
Posted by: The Dan at March 1, 2007 12:44 AMCute and fun but a one-shot deal, no? Once you beat the game once, it's over.
Posted by: Charles at March 1, 2007 12:57 PMWell, yes, but that's pretty much all adventure games.
Posted by: Francis at March 1, 2007 01:08 PMOh. Right. The beanstalk was awesome.
Posted by: Charles at March 1, 2007 02:57 PMSome of the games have been fun, some tedious; some have done a better job of really integrating the "grow" concept into the gameplay than others (e.g. the "Chicken Grow" game, which is really "Solve these two puzzles and as a result oh yeah there happens to be growing".)
"Sprout" was both fun and well-implemented, and was incredibly pretty and endearing as well. (The same is true, I should note, of Sprout.)

Posted by: zuzia at March 15, 2007 11:02 AMPresumably you mean "desert". There's something you have do earlier to make it possible to get past that point.
