But I'm back now. More substantive posts to come, but for now, two links:
Ken Jennings gives Alex Trebek the business.
Arrested Development fans will be delighted to know that the Pageant of the Masters is real, and still going on after more than 70 years. (This is probably old news to Californians.)
Posted by Francis at 12:15 AMI'm a Californian (well, for 10+ years now) and I'd never heard of it. This is cool and freaky. I wish the slide show revealed more about the sets-- e.g., how the hell was "Road to Tarascon" staged, physically?
Posted by: Rick at August 1, 2006 03:21 PMI sure as hell hope that rant is Jennings' failed idea of a joke.
Posted by: Columbine at August 2, 2006 02:02 PMI believe he's joking, but I'm not getting exactly what he's trying to say (entertaining though his presentation is). Is he satirizing people who criticize "Jeopardy!"? Are there enough people who criticize "Jeopardy!" that they are even a potential target for satire? Or is he trying to couch a few legit critiques inside a bunch of jokes? I'm not sure.
