From Debby, a list of the 50 worst video game titles. (Honestly, I kind of want to try #11.) As for the best video game title, it's no contest as far as I'm concerned: it's Deadly Rooms of Death all the way!
Posted by Francis at 06:23 PMI speculate that, had it not become a household name and therefore achieved normalcy, Donkey Kong might have made such a list.
Speaking of which, is anyone else out there old enough to remember if their first reaction upon hearing there was a big new movie out called Star Wars was "What a retarded name for a movie?"
Posted by: Rick at July 11, 2006 07:08 PMI actually consider #32 one of the best side-scroller games ever written, but yeah, the title, yikes.
And I guessed #11 would be on there! (Again, an addictive game that is weird enough to be funny.)
I think there's a Japanese game called Slap Fighter, but am not 100% sure.
Posted by: Maelstrom at July 12, 2006 01:51 AMI *totally* loved #7. I had this bootleg Japanese cartridge that had 101 games on it (for my 8-bit Nintendo console), and that was far and away the most fun. Man, that game sucked.
Posted by: Lorinne at July 12, 2006 10:06 AMThe one I've played is #47, Jumpman. A great little game along the lines of Lode Runner, except with...um...jumping.
Posted by: Francis at July 12, 2006 10:34 AM"Jumpman" was also, of course, the original name of Mario. (Arcade Donkey Kong instruction: "Jump button makes Jumpman jump.")
It's all one beautiful, interconnected tapestry, I tell you.

I think I could get my brother to part with his copy of Mr. Domino. You got anything to play it on?
Also, the most glaring omission? "Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist"
