You may fire when ready, kiddies

Gays are not the ones recruiting our nation's youth.

That article was kinda funny in a schadenfreude, boohoo-for-hunters-facing-"extinction" way. Hunters may live on in name only: Hunter has been a popular name for baby boys (top 50) for about a decade.

The guy who's traveling around all fall spreading the hunting gospel while his wife works 17-hour days to support the family? What a charmer. Gotta wonder if his wife believes in his mission, or if she's basically operating as a single parent out of necessity.

Also, you'll note that nobody's going around bemoaning the withering of crosswords as a pastime. I'll be on the lookout for more camo at Stamford, what with all the people who must be switching hobbies.

Is the NYT freakin' DESPERATE? This is SO not fit to print! Here's the news flash: Hunting is DOWN, people, so let's do a story about it? Because there's no actual story, the piece ends up profiling some total LOSER who carves mushrooms, abandons his wife and five children for MONTHS at a time, sleeps in his fucking TRUCK, makes his wife work two jobs, and promotes early hearing loss in babies. I think animal rights groups can take a pass on this one. Who CARES! With the geniuses populating this article, it's only a matter of time before some kid (not an animal) gets shot.

Nice. My four year old really needs a rifle, he has such incredible judgement.
