The Independent says New Orleans could be uninhabitable for a decade and that the Bush administration is covering up the extent of the damage. Wait, but this hinges on the idea of the Bush administration not being fully honest with the American people! Clearly this is nonsense.
Posted by Francis at 03:00 PMReally, the Bush administration is genius, pure genius. You take a bunch of neocons who hate government, put them in charge of the government, allow them to muck everything up, and then watch all the fans of an active and involved government (New Deal style) start hating the government, too.
Posted by: Orange at September 13, 2005 08:02 AMI have a vision of Bush at a press conference, staring intently at the camera for a couple of seconds, saying nothing. It is obvious he is thinking, as he looks pained.
He then breaks the silence with a wave of his hand and saying to the American people...
"These are not the droids you're looking for."
And while we may not know exactly what he is talking about, civilization will continue to decline.

Maybe you should do a 'Six Things' on this, if yer feelin' political.
