John dough

Orange's comment in the cat-photo thread about a reprinted puzzle of mine reminded me that I should plug a collection of honest-to-god new puzzles of mine, a little toilet-shaped book of 10-by-10 crosswords (some themeless, some not). I'm pretty pleased with it, actually.

"Holy Tango" had bonus stickers in the back. Do your "Sit and Solve" books have little squares of toilet paper in the back? Or maybe a nice squirt of air freshener?

Francis, Mona and I were talking. We think you owe us some commissions for convincing other people to buy Holy Tango. What would you consider a fair fee?

I think the two of you might see about taking it out in trade....

Meaning...?

Well, for convincing other people to buy the book, I'd say...maybe a copy of one of Francis' 'toilet' books would be a fair trade. Or a picture of him in his skivvies. Rose, you have one you can send us, right?

Knowing Rose, she probably meant "trade" in the sense of "rough trade". Anyway, let's see -- sure, if you convince, say, five people to buy Holy Tango, I will give you a copy of my crossword book. But I will need to see receipts. Stuck in cleavage.
