I was so embarrassed at the pizzeria when I used the wrong fork to put garlic salt on my cheese slice

the ice cube remover actually sounds like a good idea...

How many rough drafts did that last drawing go through? That's gotta be the most complicated individual drawing I've ever seen in "Six Things".

Not too many -- one in pencil, one warm-up in pen, and one final version in pen. It's nowhere near the panel it has taken me the most attempts to draw!

Seriously, I agree with The Foole. You should market the ice cube remover. You could make millions. I'd buy one.

Was the the grape seed extractor?
Or navy blue?

Nnnnnnnno. But seriously, Big Ben was tricky (in "Folk songs of the future"), as was the SUV in the "Warning labels" cartoon, and pretty much the entire "Dating faux pas" cartoon. Also, surprisingly, the stack of pillows in the "Ways to kill someone with kindness" cartoon took forever. I don't know, I just couldn't get them to look right.

The fork sponge looks very similar to the Foreman Grill Cleaning Sponge, which is spaced to fit the ridges in that item.

Obviously I need to start a late-night infomercial empire.

Have you grown a beard?

Posted by: Liz at June 10, 2005 12:43 AM

No, that's just supposed to be a guy with a beard. I may regrow my beard at some point, but it will definitely not be at the beginning of summer.

Maybe it's James Beard, the chef.

If the infomercial empire doesn't work out I think you have a future in engineering.
