Dude!
I don't know exactly how long it will take for these babies to get to reviewers/stores/Amazon, but I'm thinking realsoonnow. And if any of my readers are close personal friends with important book reviewers, now is your time to shine.

I see your book is highlighted at Emmis. Pretty kewl.
I don't know any influential reviewers, and as is my practice on my own blog, books of people I know are reviewed only in terms of how likely they are to make buckets of money that I could dip a sponge in. Gotta have ethics.
Thanks,

Excellent! Congrats.
Posted by: Kath at November 18, 2004 09:55 AMWoooeeee! At last, at last! I am EXCITED.
Posted by: Alexandra at November 18, 2004 10:03 AMMust...seek...out...
I happen to know a few mildly influential book reviewers. Alas, they review children's books, so unless you can convince a literary review journal that your book is appropriate for ten-year-olds, there's not much I can do.
Posted by: Lance at November 18, 2004 01:59 PMYeah...I think the David Mamet play alone is enough to disqualify it as a book for kids.
Posted by: Francis at November 18, 2004 02:06 PMCongratulations, Francis!

Posted by: Iko at November 19, 2004 02:39 PMAnother News Quizzer moves up to the big leagues. Congratulations!
I was in Borders in Dearborn tonight and decided to look you up. Going by book title, it shows that "Holy Tango of Literature" is written by Richard Thompson. You seem a little young to have led "Fairport Convention" in the '70s. It does show your cover, however. You might want to give Borders a call to have them give you your props. Borders.com is okay, though.
Posted by: Mark Wade at November 20, 2004 11:16 PMHonestly, I really do owe it all to News Quiz; I met Daniel Radosh at a News Quiz party, and it was his encouraging me to come up with something for the Modern Humorist site (which is down at the moment...or at least I hope it's only for the moment) that began the brainstorming session at which I came up with the anagram poetry idea.
Anyway, Richard Thompson (of the Washington Post) is the illustrator of the book. I wish I could get the other Richard Thompson to play on the songs, though, for full cornering of the market on Richard Thompsons.
Posted by: Francis at November 21, 2004 09:09 AMCongratulations! I can't wait to get my hands on this book!
Posted by: Eileen at November 21, 2004 10:23 AMI knew I should have hopped in the family minivan and drove the ten hours to make the News Quiz farewell party in New York. But I really couldn't leave a complicated pregnant wife (yes both the pregnacy and the wife were complicated) and a two year old toddler for the two days.
Oh, well. My answers were mostly hack anyway. Yours, genius.
Posted by: Mark Wade at November 21, 2004 06:44 PMGot it! Already amused!
