Revised course schedule for April 2005
Learn-to-knit Crash Course! -- 1 session, $40
You’ll learn to knit and purl, to cast on and cast off, to increase and decrease -- all in one afternoon! You’ll also get advice on starting a first project.
Class B: meets Saturday, 1-5pm, April 23rd
Intro to Cables -- 2 sessions, $40
You’ll learn to handle a cable needle, how to twist your stitches on purpose, and how to follow both charted and written-out pattern directions for cabled stitch patterns. Bring in any cabled patterns you’ve been wanting to make, and we’ll look over them in class, too!
Class B: meets Wednesdays, 7-9pm, April 20th and 27th
Pattern Adaptation for Larger Sizes -- 2 sessions, $40
Isn’t it frustrating when size XL in a written pattern turns out to have a 40-inch chest measurement? So let’s take control of our knitting! Class instruction will focus on using a written pattern as a starting point for creating a project you’ll be pleased to knit and wear. We’ll discuss general principles of pattern adaptation, but with a special focus on construction and design details that make knitwear comfortable and flattering in larger sizes. Bring patterns to the first class session. A bibliographical resource list will be provided. Class limit six students.
[NOTE: CLASS IS BEING RESCHEDULED]
Beginning spinning – 1 session, $30
Learn the basics of making your own yarn! You’ll make a spindle in class and learn how to use it. Materials fee of $15 includes a book and materials for your spindle.
Class B: meets Saturday, 1-4pm – April 30th
TGIF Knitting Circle – FREE!
Every Friday evening from 5:30 to 9pm. Bring your project and relax at Yarnivore before going out for the weekend. BYOB.
